Bamboo processing machines are used to perform tasks like splitting, slicing, and knot removing on bamboo. Paper machines are used to create paper from pulp.
Bamboo processing machines
Splitting: Separates bamboo in the direction of the fibers, at right angles to the surface
Slicing: Separates bamboo in the direction of the fibers, parallel to the surface
Knot removing: Cuts or grinds down the nodes between segments
Planing: Smooths the top, bottom, and/or side surfaces of a split length
Cross cutting: Cuts a length of stem into shorter sections
Paper machines
Fourdrinier machine: A moving woven mesh filters out fibers from a paper stock to create a wet mat of fibers
Pressing: Removes water from the paper sheet by applying force
Drying: Eliminates water from the paper sheets through air or heat
Bamboo pulp and paper
Bamboo is used to make paper pulp in China, Myanmar, Thailand, and India
Bamboo pulp is used in printing and writing papers
